Italian packaging machinery company CT PACK celebrated the opening of its new U.S. headquarters Wednesday, enabling the company to easily serve the North American market.

The 27,000-square-foot facility in Franklin Park, IL, features both factory and office space. It will operate as a service facility for CT PACK, bolstering the company’s available inventory and technicians to support its North American customers.

Four industries under one roof

CT PACK will call this facility its new U.S. base, but it’s not the only company to do so.

Areté Cocchi Technology (ACT), the industrial group under which CT PACK operates, will use the facility as the U.S. headquarters for three other business units as well, allowing each to collaborate across their respective industries.

Those three other businesses include robotics and industry automation company Reis Robotics, science applications company OCEM Power Electronics, and airfield technology company Multi Electric.Four ACT companies will share the facility as a U.S. headquarters, collaborating across industries to support growth.Four ACT companies will share the facility as a U.S. headquarters, collaborating across industries to support growth.

“Especially with Reis Robotics, since CT PACK and Reis are both manufacturers of machinery, we can establish a supply chain here in the U.S. to assist our customers faster compared to what we can do from back in Italy,” says Filippo Cocchi, CT PACK managing director. “We can also combine manufacturing processes. Between mechanical assembly, cabling, and software implementation, there are a lot of points in common here.”

Through this industry-spanning collaboration under one facility, ACT aims to grow its U.S. market business volume to rapidly reach $50 million in revenue.

Choosing the Chicago area as a headquarters

Another draw that led ACT to choose this facility as a U.S. headquarters is its strategic location.

Being near Chicago’s O’Hare International Airport and close to key U.S. clients, the facility will play a major role in simplifying logistics for CT PACK and each other ACT company in the building.

“The area is very well developed, we have a lot of customers nearby, and we have the airport to make transportation and travel easy, so this is a very important location for us,” says Cocchi.

Placing a greater focus on U.S. business expansion was another draw. Explains Cocchi, “For us, the United States market for packaging and automation is probably the most important market worldwide. There are a lot of companies here, a lot of customers, and a big need for automation.”

The new U.S. headquarters positions CT PACK to better connect with the North American market, enhancing its service capabilities and setting it up for collaborative growth alongside ACT’s other businesses.
